Fife Flyers 5 Dynamos 5
Report by Bernard Stocks (Ice Hockey Herald No 21, 30
January1971). Leading 5-2 with eight minutes to go, Flyers let this one slip away from them.
On the, overall play, however, a draw was a just result.
Muir put Flyers in the lead after one minute, with the equaliser coming from B. Stevenson. The Second period saw Fife
in command, and Baird and Muir flashed the lamp. R. Stevenson put the visitors back in the game but Lovell restored Flyers
two goal lead. The first ten minutes of the final period was scrappy, with neither goaler being greatly tested. Then Medd
got Flyer's fifth after fine leading up work from Lovell and Baird. In Dynamos late comeback, Baird scored again but
past his own keeper as he deflected a Brennan shot into the twine. A slip while making a substitution had Flyers
on the hop: Brennan saw the opening and sent R. Stevenson away to score. The same player net the equaliser with a minute
and a half to go.
