Dynamos 10 Durham Wasps 8
Report from Ice Hockey Herald No24 (3 April 1971).
A spirited third period comeback by Wasps nearly gave them a surprise victory in a match that featured a lot of good
hockey. The visitors twice went into the lead in an even first stage, OConnor and P. M'Donough being the marksmen, but a B.
Stevenson hat-trick gave Dynamos a slight edge at the first interval. In the second period, Hester, B. Stevenson and W.
Lavety shot Glasgow into a 8-3 lead, Durham's only goal coming from O'Connor. Wasps pulled up to 8-5 thanks to Johnson and
O'Connor, B. Stevenson notched his fifth of the evening, and then 0' Connor and Brown evened matters with four minutes to
go. Dynamos, however, had just that little bit extra in reserve, and A. Lavety, Hester and W.Lavetyput the issue beyond
doubt. Wasps still didn't give up, and fifteen seconds from time O'Connor in his turn completed a nap hand of goals.
